Wes & MaryJo Menard / Dick & Penny Paulus Open House Schedule     

The Menard's and Paulus' invite their friends in the Southern California Garden Railway Society, the Upland Garden Railway Society, and the Fairplex Volunteers to join them and enjoy their garden railroad in Big Bear.  The nine year old railroad is a folded dog bone design with two long passing sidings.  Approximately 200 feet of track wind around large pine trees within view of the lake.  The invigorating clean mountain air adds to the uniqueness of the setting.  The layout is used year round. Operations in freezing winter weather first require pushing snow plow with heavy locomotives to clear the snow.  Train engineers can then have fun running trains until they bigin to turn blue.  When that happens they have been known to retreat to the warmth of a nearby garage to control and view the trains through a window.  Summer time operations are much easier and you should enjoy warm weather.
